Project Background:
As the market for biometric technology expanded, Hanbai Tech sought to launch a new generation of face recognition terminals. They needed a product that could adapt to a wider range of scenarios and feature a more refined, high-end aesthetic to strengthen their brand leadership. Hanbai Tech and the LKK product R&D team established clear goals:
Scene Versatility: The product required a powerful transformation capability. A single device body, through a rational connection mechanism, had to be perfectly adaptable for vertical, wall-mounted, desktop, and gate-integrated forms.
High-End, Simplified Aesthetics: While meeting complex technical needs, the appearance had to remain neat, delicate, and communicate a premium, professional brand image.
Technical Performance Assurance: The design had to reliably house advanced face recognition algorithms and ensure structural stability and durability in various environments.

Design Research
Our team began with in-depth research into the target market and application scenarios. We analyzed environmental characteristics of public spaces, user interaction habits, and maintenance needs. A key insight revealed that a successful terminal must blend seamlessly into diverse environments and offer flexible installation, all while providing an intuitive user interface. These findings directly informed the subsequent industrial and mechanical design.
Industrial Design
In the industrial design phase, we adhered to a "less is more" philosophy.
Overall Form Factor: We eliminated unnecessary decorative elements, opting for a minimalist and integrated geometric form. The device features clean lines and a subdued color scheme, allowing it to blend naturally into any high-end environment.
Human-Machine Interaction: The screen angle and camera position were meticulously planned to ensure optimal recognition accuracy from a user's natural standing posture, significantly enhancing the user experience.
Mechanical Structure Design
The mechanical structure was the core of the product's versatility and durability.
Multi-Scene Adaptation Structure: We innovated a core connection mechanism, allowing the main device body to be quickly converted between a vertical stand, wall mount, desktop base, and more. This achieved the goal of "one body, multiple uses."
Damping Rotating Shaft & Unique Tooth Limit Design:
The display's vertical tilt incorporates a high-quality damping shaft, ensuring smooth, stable adjustment and a premium feel, while meeting requirements for strength and wear resistance.
A unique tooth limit design between the column and the base prevents unwanted left-right rotation, providing a more secure clamping effect and ensuring safety and reliability in public use.
Prototyping & Testing
Upon finalizing the design, we moved to rapid prototyping. We created full-scale, functional prototypes using CNC machining and 3D printing. The prototypes underwent rigorous testing, including:
Structural Strength Tests: Validating the durability of the connection mechanisms and rotating shafts.
Scene Adaptation Tests: Simulating all installation methods to confirm stability and ease of use.
Ergonomics Testing: Inviting target users to experience the device, ensuring the recognition angle and interaction flow were intuitive.
The positive test results validated our design feasibility and provided critical data for final production optimization.
