HELLA In-Car Voice Assistant
Exterior and Structural Design for an In-Car Voice Speaker
Innovation Insights

User Requirements
The client had already completed the selection and internal arrangement of the electronic components.
The exterior design needed to combine the cool, technology-driven character of the automotive aftermarket with the visual identity of a voice-enabled speaker.
At the same time, the design had to ensure that the internal hardware functions, including sensing, sound pickup, scanning, and heat dissipation, were not affected by the exterior structure.
Innovation Value
The project helped HELLA expand into the field of in-car voice speakers.
It created a seamless connection between people, content, and usage scenarios, allowing content to move naturally with the user’s behavior.
Design Strategy

Product Strategy
After thoroughly analyzing the limitations created by the internal electronic components, the LKK Design team defined the product’s exterior direction and completed the appearance design.

Optimization and Upgrade
The design team worked closely with HELLA’s hardware team.
From the perspectives of usage scenarios, technical hardware, and user experience, the team defined the product dimensions, exterior form, and material treatments.
💡 Solution
1. Packaging and Unboxing Experience
To create a more complete product experience, the LKK Design team also supported the client with the overall packaging and unboxing experience after completing the product design.
This provided consumers with a more complete experience from opening the package to using the product.
2. Complete Product Design Scope
The project included product style and dimension definition, exterior design, packaging design, and unboxing experience design.
