A cell bio-printer designed for JETPRIN
This commissioned design project for JETPRIN falls within the advanced bio-3D printer segment, where LKK Design was tasked with developing a sophisticated cell bioprinter that demonstrates technical excellence while elevating corporate and brand identity. JETPRIN's existing functional prototype had successfully developed a multi-zone adjustable system capable of printing biomaterials across varying viscosity ranges, from low to high. The challenge was to transform this technical achievement into a market-leading product that balanced advanced functionality with compelling design.
JETPRIN required a comprehensive design solution that maintained perfect harmony between structural integrity and advanced functionality. The key objectives included implementing a customizable multi-nozzle system enabling simultaneous online printing of multiple biomaterials and cells, significantly outperforming competitors in nozzle switching efficiency, and incorporating adjustable pressure control to ensure higher cell survival rates during the printing process. While the existing prototype met basic functional requirements, both the exterior design and structural architecture demanded significant optimization to match JETPRIN's growing brand prestige in the medical technology sector.
Design Research

Industrial Design
The JETPRIN Cell Bioprinter represents a breakthrough in medical device aesthetics—a sophisticated instrument that positions and assembles biomaterials or cell units according to additive manufacturing principles. LKK Design's approach focused on creating an intuitive user experience through clean lines, thoughtful ergonomics, and a professional color scheme. We successfully eliminated the cold, industrial feel common in existing products, replacing it with a design language that communicates precision, cleanliness, and technological advancement specifically tailored for medical research environments.
Mechanical Structure Design
Our engineering team revolutionized the printer's core architecture by optimizing the multi-nozzle system layout for enhanced switching efficiency and precision. We completely redesigned the pressure regulation modules to maximize cell viability during printing operations.
