HocerMed Ultrasonic Scalpel
Establishing a New Standard for Ultrasonic Cutting and Hemostatic Systems
Innovation Insights

Project Background
The ultrasonic cutting and hemostatic system is mainly used during surgery for tissue cutting, hemostasis, and coagulation.
Equipped with Intelligent Tissue Monitoring (ITM) and a built-in high-speed dual-core DSP, the system can intelligently monitor changes in tissue characteristics at the blade tip compared with similar products.
It precisely adjusts the energy output of the main unit to achieve optimal vessel sealing and minimal thermal damage when processing different types of tissue.
This improves operating efficiency and helps shorten postoperative recovery time.
Innovation Value
The product has passed the U.S. FDA 510(k) vessel-sealing test and can safely seal blood vessels up to 5 mm in diameter.
It also features a power-on self-test function that monitors the operating status of the system.
System logs are updated in real time and can be accessed whenever required.
Design Strategy

Product Strategy
The functional areas of the ultrasonic cutting and hemostatic system are integrated into the front panel.
The panel is tilted upward by 2.5 degrees to reduce glare caused by ambient light for medical operators, making surgical operation more convenient.

User Insight
The aesthetic design follows a minimalist and future-oriented medical design philosophy.
With the continued advancement of science and technology, future medical products are expected to become more intelligent and technologically advanced.
A more approachable product appearance can help reduce patients’ fear of medical equipment.
💡 Solution
1. Compact Structural Design
The structural design adopts a compact configuration.
The internal component arrangement was also optimized to support more convenient equipment operation.
Every designed surface was accurately reproduced in the final product to ensure a comfortable grip.
2. Material and Color Design
Medical white is combined with matte-finished metal materials.
The combination of white and silver creates richer details and visual layering while improving the product’s overall sense of quality and value.
Consistent materials and colors are used on the front and rear sections, creating a coordinated and unified appearance.
