Building on traditional Chinese blessing customs, tourist attractions across the country have continued to preserve and reinterpret this culture, creating distinctive prayer experiences that combine local traditions with modern tourism.
Taikang Life partnered with the LKK Product Development Team to create a smart prayer and fortune-drawing cabinet for Luofu Mountain.
The project aimed to transform the traditional fortune-drawing process into a more engaging, accessible, and technology-driven cultural experience.

The Luofu Mountain Smart Prayer and Fortune-Drawing Cabinet combines traditional blessing culture with modern technology.
By introducing digital interaction, dynamic lighting, automatic cabinet doors, and electronic fortune selection, the product brings traditional prayer customs closer to contemporary younger audiences.
The interactive experience encourages more young visitors to understand, explore, and participate in traditional Chinese culture.
At the same time, it provides users with an emotional experience filled with hope, positive wishes, and expectations for the future.
Design Strategy
Main Functions
The cabinet uses programmable LED lighting to display different patterns and visual effects.
Its internal system supports the independent control of a 7 × 15 motor array, allowing each corresponding compartment to be opened individually.
This control structure enables the system to match the randomly selected fortune result with a specific cabinet compartment.
Technical Features
The product integrates electronic fortune drawing, LED displays inspired by Buddhist culture, and automatically controlled cabinet doors.
Users complete the fortune-drawing process through a digital terminal, while the lighting and mechanical systems respond automatically.
The combination of software, lighting, motors, and cabinet control creates a complete intelligent interaction process.

1. Modern Technology Combined with Traditional Cultural Elements
The smart prayer and fortune-drawing cabinet features a fashionable, minimalist, and technology-inspired appearance while maintaining a dignified and elegant character.
Design elements inspired by the Six Realms of Reincarnation and traditional Chinese meander patterns were incorporated naturally into the exterior.
These cultural symbols allow the product to blend harmoniously into the temple environment rather than appearing as an unrelated electronic device.
The resulting design balances modern technology with religious solemnity, traditional aesthetics, and the cultural atmosphere of Luofu Mountain.
2. Interactive Electronic Fortune-Drawing Experience
Users begin the fortune-drawing process through the operating terminal positioned on the right side of the product.
Once the process starts, the lighting system on the prayer cabinet to the left displays a sequence of changing patterns.
While the lights continue to move and flash, the user can press the stop button at any moment.
The system then randomly selects a result and automatically opens the corresponding cabinet compartment.
The user can retrieve the selected fortune paper from the opened compartment and continue with the fortune interpretation experience.
This interactive process preserves the sense of anticipation and ritual associated with traditional fortune drawing while introducing a more intuitive, entertaining, and technology-driven method of participation.
