Project Background
Previous products often included too many functions and complicated operating procedures, making them difficult for ordinary users to understand and creating a negative user experience.
To simplify the measurement process, the product focuses on the most commonly used body circumference options, including shoulder width, chest, upper arm, waist, hips, thigh, and calf.
The system does not require users to distinguish between the left and right sides of the body, helping reduce unnecessary steps and making the complete measurement process faster and easier.

As the brand’s first product in this category, the design team aimed to establish a completely new and recognizable product identity.
The main body adopts a soft, rounded square form.
To avoid creating an overly conventional appearance, the top surface was deliberately interrupted with a distinctive visual feature.
This detail creates a memorable design element that helps the product stand out from similar devices on the market.

Instead of relying only on numerical information, the product provides intuitive visual feedback through different lighting states.

💡 Solution
1. Ergonomic Controls and Accurate Body Contact
The button position was carefully designed to match the natural holding posture of the right hand.
Because placing two buttons too close together could easily result in accidental operation, their spacing and positions were repeatedly adjusted to improve control accuracy.
The area that comes into contact with the body features a curved surface that fits the body more naturally.
This structure improves contact with the measurement area and helps users position the device more accurately.
These ergonomic improvements solve practical operating problems and enhance the overall product experience.
2. Establishing a Distinctive Design DNA
The design team also aimed to create a unique visual DNA for the smart measuring tape.
A circular geometric form was selected as the main design foundation and then intentionally interrupted to create a more distinctive and recognizable appearance.
The final form is simple and refined while fully meeting the ergonomic requirements of holding, positioning, and measuring the body.
This balance between visual identity and practical usability gives the product a clear market distinction and provides a design foundation for future products in the same family.
