Project Background

During the early stage of the project, the design team conducted multiple rounds of user research to identify the key challenges experienced by different user groups.

Rental LED displays are a specialized product category because purchasers and daily operators have different priorities.

Purchasers are generally more concerned with product performance, visual quality, durability, and exterior appearance.

Operators, installers, and maintenance personnel focus more heavily on installation efficiency, handling convenience, repair procedures, and the overall experience of using and maintaining the equipment.

The project therefore needed to balance commercial purchasing requirements with the practical needs of on-site users.

User Requirements

During the development of the Road Ready rental LED display, the design team needed to consider these different requirements within one complete product solution.

The display had to be easy to install, remove, inspect, and maintain during frequent rental use.

At the same time, multiple cabinets needed to connect precisely and form a visually clean, detailed, and consistent display surface.

The final product was expected to provide both professional technical performance and a refined exterior suitable for exhibitions, events, stages, conferences, and commercial installations.

Design Strategy

User Insight

The client proposed a wide range of functional and visual requirements for the rental LED display.

The product needed to support both front and rear maintenance, provide convenient installation, and allow the power module to be removed quickly.

It also needed to support climbing during installation, offer automatic positioning, and simplify the alignment of multiple display cabinets.

In terms of appearance, the product was expected to communicate a sense of technology, professionalism, precision, and high manufacturing quality.

The greatest technical challenge was achieving rear maintenance.

The overall cabinet measured 500 × 500 mm, while each LED module measured 250 × 250 mm.

Within this limited structure, removing the module from the rear was extremely difficult.

The frame also needed to provide sufficient structural strength while remaining lightweight enough for frequent transportation, installation, and disassembly.

Optimization Strategy

Throughout the design process, the team continuously reduced and optimized the frame structure.

Multiple rounds of discussion, structural analysis, and 3D model verification were carried out before the final solution was confirmed.

The completed frame successfully balanced rear-maintenance access, structural strength, low weight, installation efficiency, and visual quality.

This iterative process ensured that the display could meet demanding rental conditions without compromising safety, durability, or appearance.

💡 Solution

1. Integrated Control and Power Module

The power box, receiving card, and hub board were integrated into a single three-in-one module.

This plug-and-play structure simplifies internal connections and makes installation and maintenance faster and more convenient.

The LED module can be pushed out easily, allowing damaged or faulty components to be replaced quickly.

This design reduces maintenance time and helps operators restore the display efficiently during events or commercial use.

2. Fast Installation and Wireless Connection

The product supports rapid installation and disassembly, making it suitable for rental environments that require frequent transportation and repeated setup.

Its unique structural design improves cabinet positioning and connection accuracy.

The wireless connection system reduces exposed cables and simplifies the assembly process.

Together, these features improve operating efficiency while creating a cleaner, more professional, and visually consistent LED display system.
