With the rapid development of electronic technology, people are using an increasing number of smart and electronic products in everyday life. As a result, charging solutions for electronic devices have attracted growing attention from users.
Following the development of the 33W ultra-thin biscuit charger, Nanjing Powerland Technology Inc. collaborated with LKK Design to create a new 65W GaN fast charger, which has now been successfully launched on the market.
69% Smaller Size
The Usmile-65 is a pocket-sized and highly portable fast charger suitable for smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, Bluetooth earphones, and other electronic devices.
The product weighs only 90 grams and is 69% smaller than a conventional 61W charger. Its overall volume is approximately the size of a table tennis ball, allowing it to fit easily into a pocket.
Design Strategy
Design Inspiration
The product design was inspired by a black hole in the universe, which contains immense energy and symbolizes humanity’s continuous exploration of the future.
The circular design element of the black hole corresponds with the semicircular element in the Powerland logo, creating a consistent visual connection.
Product Development
The overall form of the 65W charger is based on a silver rounded-square structure, combined with a black racetrack-shaped element derived from the company logo.
The silver finish communicates a premium and sophisticated character, while the black racetrack-shaped detail conveys mystery and stability. The slightly curved surfaces make the product appear more approachable and provide a more comfortable grip.
Together, these design concepts create a distinctive product personality for the 65W charger and help differentiate it from the highly homogeneous products in the charger market.
💡 Solution
1. Color and Appearance Design
For the exterior color scheme, the designers introduced a younger and more vibrant design language to Powerland, offering multiple choices to satisfy the preferences of different user groups.
2. Family Design DNA
In the detailed design, the parting line of the 65W charger continues the smile-shaped curve used on the previous-generation 33W ultra-thin biscuit charger.
The corresponding design elements naturally establish a recognizable family design language for Powerland products.
3. GaN Fast-Charging Technology
The product uses revolutionary gallium nitride GaN technology to achieve high power output within an extremely compact space.
Its power efficiency reaches 94%, and it can charge a compatible device from 0% to 50% in 18 minutes.
