Unlocking Children’s Natural Creativity with Child-Centered Design
Innovation Insights

Existing Drawing Tablets
Functional Experience
Traditional magnetic drawing boards use magnetic powder and magnetic force.
Their lines are often rough, while the magnetic powder may present potential safety risks.
These products are also generally heavy and offer limited perceived quality.
Appearance and Interaction
Many existing products adopt overly childish cartoon styling.
The writing experience is often not smooth, drawing can feel rough, and sliding or erasing operations may be inconvenient.
Design Strategy

Market Research
Through research into children’s writing and drawing behaviors, the design team developed a new experience better suited to how children naturally create.
Product Strategy
Based on the characteristics of children’s writing and drawing, the product was designed to be lighter and more comfortable.
Its interaction language was also simplified to make the product clear and easy to understand.

User Insight
The complete usage process was divided into multiple behavioral paths.
Each step was analyzed to identify and optimize detailed aspects of the user experience.
Experience Optimization
A full-scale 1:1 interactive prototype was created to simulate children’s writing and drawing actions.
The test results were quantified and used to improve the operating experience.
💡 Solution
1. Scroll-Inspired Product Design
The overall product design adopts the concept of a traditional drawing scroll.
This form improves the writing and drawing experience while clearly communicating the product’s creative purpose to children.
2. Colorful Appearance and Simple Controls
Bright and colorful combinations highlight the product’s child-focused character.
A one-touch erase function provides simple and convenient operation, while the screen-lock button helps prevent accidental deletion.
3. Integrated Stylus, Carrying Function, and Stand
The stylus and anti-loss cord are cleverly integrated with the carrying function, making the tablet easier for children to hold and transport.
A stand is incorporated into the bottom of the product, allowing it to be used as a memo board or to display completed artwork.
