Project Background
In recent years, professional balance bike competitions for children have become increasingly popular, raising the standards for children’s riding equipment.
Many children now expect more than simple entertainment from their riding products. They are increasingly participating in competitive events and challenging themselves on professional stages, attracting strong interest from both children and parents.
Among domestic children’s cycling brands, however, there are still very few products genuinely suitable for professional competition training, balance development, and physical fitness training.
Based on a thorough understanding of the market, we developed a children’s balance bike that combines competitive performance with safety.
The product is suitable for medium- to high-difficulty riding and helps children explore their athletic potential while developing confidence and individuality.
User Pain Points
COOGHI, the children’s cycling brand that partnered with LKK Design Shenzhen, originated from an idea developed by a father of two children.
While raising his children, he noticed that their balance bikes, bicycles, scooters, and other riding toys occupied most of the family’s limited storage space.
The children also tended to lose interest in each product after a relatively short period.
This led him to consider whether one vehicle could meet a wider range of children’s riding needs.
Based on this market insight, COOGHI collaborated with LKK Design Shenzhen to create a multifunctional children’s balance bike that supports sitting, riding, and gliding.
Design Strategy

Product Strategy
Throughout the design process, the team fully considered the essential functional and quality requirements of professional children’s riding competitions.
At the same time, the product needed to provide portability, safety, visual appeal, and a sense of novelty.

Experience Optimization
After extensive practical research and analysis, the design team introduced a 360-degree rotating handlebar, shock-absorbing pneumatic tires, and a distinctive ergonomic structure.
Through precise and scientific design, the product provides professional support for both competitive challenges and everyday riding.
💡 Solution
1. Arched Frame and Extended Wheelbase
The frame adopts a closed arched structure and forms a 25-degree optimized load-bearing curve.
This design improves the bike’s shock absorption, reduces wear on the frame, and increases overall safety.
The extended 56-centimeter wheelbase creates a balanced distance between athletic performance and riding comfort.
It also provides children with more space to ride and perform competitive skills.
2. Integrated Forming and Vibrant Colors
The body uses an integrated forming process, creating smoother and more continuous lines.
Two fashionable color options, lemon yellow and victory red, give the product a simple, colorful, stylish, and energetic appearance.
The bright design responds to children’s curiosity and desire to explore a colorful world.
3. Physical and Cognitive Development
This children’s balance bike helps develop physical balance and improves children’s control over body movement.
By encouraging coordinated physical activity, it can also support brain development and improve children’s cognitive abilities.
