BeeBox Biometric Identification Terminal Series
Defining a New Standard for Recognition Speed and Accuracy
Innovation Insights

Project Background
This product provides a fundamental terminal solution for a future information society where physical identification documents are no longer required.
It is suitable for hotels, airports, railway stations, offices, exhibition centers, schools, and many other locations.
Real-name facial identification based on identity cards and fingerprints fundamentally improves access security, travel security, and transaction security.
It also helps prevent illegal activities involving forged, stolen, or fraudulently used identity information.
User Pain Points
The client’s first-generation product series was also designed by our team and received major honors, including the Red Dot Design Award.
The key challenge was determining how to move beyond the previous design and redefine the product for the client.
Through a new collaboration with LKK Design, BeeBox Technology aimed to create a benchmark product for the biometric identification industry.
Design Strategy

Product Strategy
Based on extensive market research, competitive product analysis, and human-machine interaction studies, the design team established a visual direction featuring an overall minimalist form with carefully refined details.

Optimization and Upgrade
Through close communication with the structural and electronic engineering teams, the product achieved an extremely slim appearance.
The team re-examined the complete hardware configuration and reorganized all ergonomic dimensions, button usage frequencies, and operating procedures.
These improvements created a more logical and professional user experience.
💡 Solution
1. Integrated Visual and Hardware Design
The main visual surface integrates essential hardware components, including a wide-angle camera, fill light, infrared light, identity card reader, and fingerprint sensor.
While meeting all technical requirements, the design maintains a clean and refined appearance, establishing a new visual impression for the industry.
2. Improved Recognition Speed and Accuracy
A new facial recognition algorithm enables precise face positioning and significantly improves both recognition speed and accuracy.
Under calibrated posture conditions, the correct recognition rate can reach 99.99%.
By increasing the user pass-through rate, the system helps reduce waiting and retention time.
