On May 30, 2023, the fifth Imagination Conference, themed "Category Breakthroughs AI Breakthroughs", was successfully held in Shanghai, jointly organized by the Rococo Design Group. From symbols to oracle bones, from agriculture to modern times, from ignorance to civilization, humanity has never stopped its progress. As an innovative design enterprise that has established China's leading digital design platform and possesses over 40,000+ platform designers, when most people were still pondering what AI could bring to us and were panicked about the potential industry replacement brought by its exponential iteration speed, Rococo had already deeply laid out in the AI design field and entered the 2.0 era. Through AI, it explores new commercial value in design and realizes commercial applications. At this conference, Li Yichao, the president of the Rococo Innovation Design Group, shared the story of "45 days" between Rococo and AI design.

In March 2023, ChatGPT 4.0 and Midjourney V5 were released successively, marking the arrival of a new era in AI technology; in April of the same year, Rococo launched the commercialization 2.0 era of AI-driven intelligent design.
Li Yichao said, "The core of our AI design is not to pursue a specific technology or a certain trend. Technologies can be learned, but there is one thing we must adhere to: we must make it commercially viable. Only through commercialization can the technology truly be steered onto the right path. This is what we have been consistently researching at the data and AI levels."

Artificial intelligence surpasses the past and shapes the future.
Under the tide of societal progress, artificial intelligence is not only providing convenience but also transforming the development of the design industry. Regarding how to apply artificial intelligence tools and convert imagination into productivity in the business environment to better empower customers, Li Yichao shared two real business cases that occurred during the 45 days when Lokkoche embraced artificial intelligence:
The AI flagship R&D center of Rococo Design has collaborated with the "Extreme Environment Nutrition and Protection Research Institute" of Harbin Institute of Technology. Starting from cutting-edge biotechnology formulas, they have created the domestic beauty brand "Xiuyan She".
This research institute is a specialized institution dedicated to researching and developing skin management and care solutions for military personnel in extreme environments such as high altitudes, glaciers, and extremely hot weather, as well as for astronauts returning from spacecraft. In the past, it was only for military use. Today, they have opened up their technology and collaborated with Choco Design to create a civilian brand. After more than a year of product development and channel preparation, the product was launched successfully. However, due to the difficulty of accurately capturing the extraction environment of cutting-edge technology raw materials through realistic shooting, shooting directly in extreme environments like high altitudes and glaciers was too costly, resulting in unsatisfactory final image effects. The team had to try AI design. AI used the dreamy snow house to perfectly express the "robust beauty" that the team wanted to present, and a beam of light expressed the power of cutting-edge technology. This romantic and direct narration was defined by young users as "impossible to forget at a glance".


Coincidentally, recently, the Rococo Design received an urgent request from a foreign trade client - to design a set of Arabic cookware. However, the company's existing project team did not have direct case experience related to the industry of Arab culture. Years of professional work require designers to deeply understand user needs, market environment, cultural origins, etc. Therefore, after consulting a large amount of materials, the team presented a design plan, but it was not accepted by the buyers from the Middle East.


"You can't create something you don't know." Realizing this, the team began to shift direction and try again to use AI for design upgrades. The designer used years of professional and project experience to repeatedly ask questions and discuss details of AI, and got the answer - Middle East pots are used in social scenes in Middle Eastern countries and are carriers for expressing value for the owner. On this basis, the designer "feeded" a large number of materials containing Middle Eastern elements of AI, and with the power of AI technology, one designer efficiently delivered hundreds of solutions in just 2 days, quickly and ruthlessly solved customer demands, and even exceeded customer expectations to complete the delivery of solutions.
Li Yichao said, "Today we can see that the original AI-assisted designers can actually cross many boundaries of our cognition to gain insight into cross-border, cross-regional and cross-cultural user needs. Today AI brings new possibilities to products and marketing, because it has done more and more to understand you, no longer relying on big items to fight the world, it has become faster and faster, better and better, and more and more. ”

AI Breakthrough We will eventually dance with the times
" I understand that this is the 2.0 era of AI. We need to understand it, learn it, apply it, of course, many people always maintain a state, first look down, can't learn, and finally can't catch up, this is our real state. "The content generated by AI needs to be integrated with production to improve the productivity of individuals or enterprises to be more meaningful. At a time when AI has become a general trend, to better use AI to empower design, designers' creative habits will also change. In the past, it took a week or even weeks to complete a project, from research, storm, rendering to completion, through a long creative process.
